The Graduate Student Reading Room
To: Graduate Students at
the University of Virginia, 31 August 2018:
Check out the Alderman Library
Graduate Student Reading Room.
It is is
located the 3rd floor of Alderman Library between the 3Old Stacks
and the 3East Reading Room (Maps/Microforms).
Here’s
a 33 seconds video https://youtu.be/kpDBNxNHuvk
The space contains two
4-seat study tables, three individual study tables, a number of comfortable
chairs, and laptop tables. The shelves along the walls are assigned to
interested graduate students. Lockers are available for short term storage
needs. To apply for an Alderman study carrel or a shelf
contact Stephanie Hunter. Locker keys are kept at the front desk of
Alderman. The keys check out for 3 hours at a time. (Apply for a Carrell or Graduate Reading Room Shelf)
This space is for
graduate students and their guests only. All graduate students are
welcome, regardless of school or college. Signs on the doors – from the 3East
Reading Room and the 3Old Stacks - indicate that the room is reserved for
graduate student use.
This is your space
in Alderman Library. Please use and enjoy it!

This 2011 video (1
minute 33seconds) is good but a little out of dates, since the Conference Room
next to it no longer is available.
