If you have not been able to know the origins of the microfiche collection yet, perhaps you could track the catalogers. Mana Bajra (information on him is here: https://dogwoodbotanical.com/Vajracharya_Caldecott.pdf) has sadly passed away in 2001. His nephew Prof Gautama Vajra Vajracharya is in the US, till recently, at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. Perhaps he could provide some clue?

I wonder, if you can share with me a copy of the catalogue, and have you been able to convert the collection in digitized forms?

Best,
Yogeshyogesh rajhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04148557412901205095noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6830328299606296225.post-24505200428571554342013-05-08T13:01:30.057-07:002013-05-08T13:01:30.057-07:00Bronwen, Thanks for both of your posts, and your i...Bronwen, Thanks for both of your posts, and your ideas and information about this set. There must be institutional or individual m...Phil,

There must be institutional or individual memory somewhere about the project that generated these fiche. From the date of the original filming and the contents list, it's quite possible that these were early products of the Nepal-German Manuscript Preservation Project, NGMPP. If so, you're right to worry about intellectual propery, since the National Archives of Nepal now control permissions on those films.

The NGMPP is now in its cataloging phase. You might be able to check some of the fiche titles against their available data; there's some tool at http://catalogue.ngmcp.uni-hamburg.de/.

With regard to the 2 links you post, the first is a monograph you can ILL. The second is a discrete project with a later start and a different set of mss, I'm pretty sure.

Good luck!

Bronwen
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
